Dangle was a former member of the United States Coast Guard and was stationed in Hawaii and who was discharged from the Coast Guard for reasons undisclosed. At some point during his Coast Guard days, Dangle presumeably fathered a son (a result of sex with whom he thought was a drag queen), but DNA results proved otherwise.
