The Annual Hakurei Shrine Grand Festival (博麗神社例大祭) is an yearly, Touhou-only convention that takes place every Spring in Ikebukuro, Japan, starting in 2004. Hosted by Taito Corporation, ZUN uses this event as a way to publicly distribute trial versions of upcoming games to the fans well in advance of their release in stores and on the internet. In 2008, Taito Corporation established Reitaisai North America and in 2011, established Reitaisai Europe.
