The RG655 features a basswood body with a maple and walnut Super Wizard HP neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers. Components include an original Edge double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut, pickguard-mounted DiMarzio pickups in a humbucker/ single-coil/ humbucker configuration and Gotoh tuning machines. A similar model with a maple fingerboard, the RG655M, was added in 2015. A left-handed version, the RG655L, was added in 2016.
