Lasky was the Secretary of Commerce under the Grace Administration. In December 15th, 1951, Lasky reported dire news to President Grace in regarding to the growing underground economy. In which the greenback was steadily falling out of favor as more and more American citizens were choosing to use silver coins, gold pieces, and bartering to settle their debts.
