Procuratorate of Justice was the highest judicial agency in the Galactic Empire. It was probably established by Palpatine after the dissolution of the Supreme Court (presumably before 0 BBY) to strengthen his hold over the Galactic Empire. The agency was charged with prosecuting political prisoners and administering sentences on entire worlds. Possibly, The Imperial Office of Criminal Investigations was a suborganization of the Procuratorate of Justice. It is not clear if the judiciary of Imperial Remnant and reestablished Galactic Empire, the successor governments of the Galactic Empire, was anything other than the Procuratorate of Justice.
