In Killer Instinct 2013, Shadow meter is a valuable resource that serves both offensive and defensive skillsets. The meter is divided in half into two bars (three bars for Omen). Managing your meter well will give you a Shadow Counter to end an overly aggresive character's offense and a trusty Shadow Move will give you a reliable option without spending KV. Some characters has a different types of Shadow Meter for example Fulgore uses Reactor Gauge which increased his movement speed and The Real Boy edition Shadow Jago has Surge Meter in which enhanced his special moves.
