Sometimes when you're doing a version of a story, the writers are smart enough to know that for whatever reason -- budget, censors, pacing issues, et cetera -- there are things that just aren't going to make it through. So they make the best of a bad situation and explore other aspects of the story. Hopefully, this will put a new and interesting spin on the series. Time is often a factor in this.
