Ár Ré held a leadership election from January to July of 4116 to elect a successor to Rebecca Shimmerman, who resigned shortly after the January 4116 Kirlawan general elections. Tauren Ó Marcaigh won the election and succeeded Shimmerman to become the Leader of Ár Ré. A total of 107,958 ballots were cast.
