Sheridan began his career with Premier League side Bolton Wanderers in 2006 when he was seventeen years old, he signed a professional contract in 2009 that would keep at the club until 2011. He was loaned out to Altrincham until January 2010, during his time at Altrincham he made 5 league appearances and scored 0 goals. In June 2011 Sheridan left Bolton Wanderers after his contract expired and in July 2011, Sheridan joined Conference National side Stockport County on a two-year deal.He made his début on the opening day of the season against Forest Green Rovers, which ended 1-1 and Sheridan played the full 90 minutes.In January 2012, Sheridan was loaned to fellow Conference National side Southport for a month,he made 3 league appearances and scored 1 goal during his loan spell at Haig Avenu
