Character who set in train but predeceased the events of the story Witches' Hollow; he dwelt in the titular hollow. He summoned an entity (possibly Hastur itself) down from the Hyades and it dwelt with him, or in him, until his death, after which it passed to his relatives, the Potter family. He is said to have been a friend of Wizard Whateley (from The Dunwich Horror).
