Virar Cabbel was a commander in the Imperial Navy during the Galactic Civil War, and during the following Imperial Civil War. He was noted for being very resourceful, and was considered a competent officer, by his superiors and comrades. Many expected him to become a captain. During the early years of the war, Cabbel befriended a fellow rising officer, a skilled tactician and strategist, Melvar Needa. After the fracturing of the Galactic Empire following the catastrophic Battle of Endor, he joined forces with Warlord Zsinj, serving as an officer aboard his flagship. He served as the vessel's executive officer, under Captain Vellar. The commander was killed when the ship was destroyed in battle above Dathomir.
