(1956-2004) A synthesist of the Berlin School in the 1980s and 1990s. Garrison was born and grew up in Roseburg, OR in the USA, far removed from the Berlin School performers who were his touchpoints. Nonetheless, he not only acquired and built his own synths and launched his own record label as a young adult, but he mastered the style and began releasing his own albums in 1979. He produced a steady stream of Berlin and ambient music throughout the 1980s, often centered on themes of astronomy and space exploration -- he frequently did live performances in planetariums.
