Ben Parker was born in Brooklyn, New York. He was a singer in a band when he was a teenager, and fell in love with a girl named May Reilly. He would later marry her and grow old with her. They adopted a young Peter Parker, the son of Ben's brother, Richard Parker. When Ben was killed by a burglar, Peter changed into his Spider-Man costume and tracked the burglar down. He defeated him and was about to avenge Ben's murder when he remembered Ben's words "with great powers comes great responsibility". Instead, he trapped the burglar with webbing, and left him there until the police arrested him.
