The phrase 'Ancient Mystic Society' is based upon the 'Ancient and Mystical Order Rosae Crucis'. The club takes place in an Abandoned Store. Homer goes to the club to ask to join but Number One says there must be "No Homers." Homer Glumplich then comes out and laughs.
