The film's technique combines live-action and extensive use of computer generated imagery and features Matt Damon, Bill Pullman and Drew Barrymore. Its working title was Planet Ice. The film was a failure at the box office, barely grossing half of its production budget, though it received a cult following and mixed response from critics.
