Darjeeling tea was a blend of tea originating from India on Earth. In 2376 Quark came to Ro Laren's office on Deep Space 9 with a cup of Darjeeling tea for her to sample. He claimed it was very expensive but was happy to give it to her as a gift, a token of his appreciation of her fine work organising the emergency evacuation of the station the night before. He had also hoped it might tempt her into agreeing to go to dinner with him, which she did, on the condition it was as friends. (DS9 novel: Avatar, Book Two)
