Whiskey 240 is a Marine ONI detachment that assisted Alpha Team during their ill-fated mission during the Battle of Harvest. The unit continued to operate during the war and was present at the Battle of Reach and battle of Earth. The team's main objective was to provide support to local Spartan teams and to assist in evacuations, if necessary. McConnell never took part in any mission, combat-wise, but served as the team's information officer. It is unknown if the team became inactive following the end of the Human-Covenant War.
