Macedon was a country. In 336 BC Alexander the Great became its king. Later it broke apart and one part became the Ptolemaic Kingdom. The Greek drachma was Macedon's currency. The country had an army . Royal succession through the kingdom was patrilineal. There was also a Council which the members of which were chosen by the King .
