Forbidden Broadway is an off-Broadway musical revue conceived by Gerard Alessandrini in 1982, lampooning the Broadway shows of the day and famous performers such as Bernadette Peters and Ethel Merman. Several editions of the revue have been staged since, each featuring new songs about the current state of Broadway.
