The Earth is where all life lives, including Homo Sapiens. The Earth orbits around the Sun, and also revolves on its axis - but very slowly. Any point on Earth will face the sun for one thousand years before going over to the Lifelands and then the Coldlands. The region facing the sun is called the Hotlands.
