Punx(VCDF044) was born on August 7, 2008 into the Commandos gang. Her mother was dominant female Zorilla while her father was either Baker or Miles, both of whom were competing for the dominant male position at the time. She was born with just one litter-mate brother named Captain Sensible(VCDM045). A few weeks after the pups were born, their older half-sister Samba gave birth to a litter of pups; Samba did not endeavor to harm her mother's pups however, so Zorilla warranted the subordinate litter and their mother to remain in the family fold. Sadly though, one of Samba's pups VCDF045 died. Punx and the rest of the pups survived their first few months and started foraging.
