An Adan Scout, Hunthor was a member of the Second House of the Edain and resided in Brethil during the years his kinsman Brandir the Lame was Lord. Hunthor was an adventurous fellow who befriended Turin Turambar and accompanied him on his quest to slay the Dragon Glaurung. Hunthor's decision enraged Brandir and caused many of his fellow Haladin to question Brandir's rule. Hunthor never returned, however, for during his attempt to climb in the gorge of Cabed-en-Aras and quietly stalk the Drake, he was hit by a falling rock and fell to his death.
