Orbital Prison Unit Aurek was a maximum-security prison in the Golden Empire. Administered by the Ministry of Justice, it housed the highest-security prisoners of the Empire who had not been sentenced to death, as well as some who had been sentenced to death and were awaiting execution, but required especially secure confinement. Many Selff and Vimesk rebels were imprisoned there after the Second Battle of Shel Du, as were Chiss who refused the loyalty oath after the Chiss Rebellion. The prison was nicknamed "Black Hole" on the principle that those who went in almost never came out again.
