Cylons—from Cybernetic Lifeform Node—are a fictional race of sentient machines, created by humans, which appear in the reimagined Battlestar Galactica television series and its prequel spin-off Caprica. They have several different forms, some of which perfectly resemble and even mimic the behavior of humans, while others are more mechanical in appearance and function.
