During the Invasion of Kashkur by the Union of Independent Republics in 17 B.E., a refugee agency office was located in New Temperance. It was contacted by Lt. Victor Hoffman, commander of the besieged fort of Anvil Gate, and gave him information on how much food and water people needed daily to survive. When the UIR allowed the civilians at Anvil Gate to leave the city, they fled to New Temperance.
