Arthas Teranas Menethil, King of Lordaeron and High King of the Grand Alliance, is the son of King Teranas Menethil II and his wife, Liane. He was trained as a paladin by Uther the Lightbringer and became a member of the Knights of the Silver Hand. He had a brief romantic relationship with childhood friend Jaina Proudmoore, but broke it off due to conflicting duties. Arthas was committed to the protection of his people and the Alliance as a whole; tracking down the source of the undead plague that affected Lordaeron, saving Quel'Thalas from the Scourge and beating back the Burning Legion and saving the Mag'har Orcs.
