If the player teleports via the artefact from Edgeville, then the artefact teleport in the King Black Dragon's Lair returns them to Edgeville, the artefact in the lair will return the player to the poison spider room/cave below the Lesser Demons at the west edge of the Lava Maze. There are two main advantages teleporting from Edgeville: players are kept safe from PKers, and it is easy to get to a close by bank.
