Tol Sirion, later known as Tol-in-Gaurhoth, was an island in the upper reaches of the river Sirion between the Ered Wethrin to the west, the Echoriath to the east, and the Fen of Serech to the north. It was the site of the Ñoldorin Tower / Fortress of Minas Tirith.
