The 88th Mechanized Infantry Group was a mechanized infantry regiment in the Galactic Republic's Grand Army of the Republic. They fought during the Clone Wars against the Confederacy of Independent Systems's Separatist Droid Army and CIS navy. The 88th was famous for utilizing many artillery vehicles, and in the last year of the War, 19 BBY, they got to use the brand new TIE Crawlers, or century tanks. Even though they served on different planets, the 88th's troops wore green Kashyyyk trooper armor and some of their vehicles had forest and jungle camo. They were known to the CIS and were competitive with the Separatists T81 Division, and armored division in the Droid Army.
