Runtwold was a young male hare and a nephew of Meldrum Fallowthorn the Magnificient. He was also a brother of Coltvine, Thurdale and Foghill. He and his brothers were trained by their uncle Meldrum and formed a leveret squad. The squad helped rescue Mariel, Dandin, Bowly Pintips and Furpp Straightfurrer from Urgan Nagru's horderats in Castle Floret. Runtwold's footpaw was injured in the final battle of Southsward.
