Joey is an ex-boyfriend of Debra's. He was sent on a mission from his military officer, who was killed when the Military Base was destroyed by demons. After consulting with Henry Carr and demonstrating his martial arts skills, Joey becomes the Gold Ranger and helps the others in their quest to stop the invading demons from destroying earth.
