The Dogman is a fictional character who stars in the Gato graphic novel. His previous identity was Phil Dane and he was in training to be in the army, however, when this plan fell through, he applied for a 'cash-in-hand' job at a lab in a guenipig-like role, but little did he know that when his DNA was spliced with several breeds of dog that he would turn into a hybrid human-canine monster, who would be obedient to his 'master', The Scientist, who performed the tests on him.
