Devern Brandon Hansack (born February 5, 1978 in Pearl Lagoon, Nicaragua) is a currently a starter for the Pawtucket Red Sox in the Boston Red Sox organization. He is of Creole heritage and can speak Creole, English, and Spanish. He bats and throws right-handed. Hansack was origninally signed as a minor league free agent by the Houston Astros on October 21, 1999. He stayed with the organization for five seasons, never reaching the majors, before being released on March 29, 2004. He spent the 2004 and 2005 seasons as a lobster fisherman while playing professionally in Nicaragua.
