Sharik is a member of Umar's Bedullin tribe and appears briefly in Erak's Ransom. He is employed by Umar as a spy and helps him and Will by sneaking into the city of Maashava to find out what has happened to Selethen, the Rangers, Horace, Evanlyn and the two Skandians. Sharik discovers that they are to be executed the next day in the town square and joins in the attack on the Tulaghi.
