The Basilisk is an enemy from Final Fantasy III, fought in the area around Canaan and Vikings' Cove. It was one of several enemies dummied out of the NES version. Unlike the Basilisks encountered in other games, this one does not cause Stone status with its Stare attack. Instead, it inflicts Sleep.
