The 1958 Old Dominion 500 was a Grand National (now Nextel Cup) event held at Martinsville Speedway on October 12, 1958. Fireball Roberts was pulling a coup, leading 165 of the 350 laps and held a one-lap lead on Speedy Thompson when darkness ended the race with Roberts on top.
