The monarchy of the Rinic family seems to be centered around passing leadership from one family member to the next, though three members of the family, Rinic Pralanoth and his son and daughter, were recently found dead in suspicious circumstances (killed by a Peacekeeper Retrieval Squad, though it is unlikely this will be discovered and even less likely reported to the general populace). Kanvians have modern technology and interplanetary trade, but they are not all fond of off-worlders. They use creatures called Stranits as lie detectors. ("Thanks for Sharing")
