The Battle of Asteria was a conflict between the Terran Dominion and the Zerg Swarm over the planet of Asteria. Zerg forces entrenched in the Long Shadow canyons, and began launching attacks from across the planet. The Terran Dominion managed to beat the back into the valley, and gathered for a final push to drive the zerg from the planet.
