Martin Riggs (born October 16, 1949) is a police officer for the Los Angeles Police Department. He was a member of the United States Special Forces until 1969. He married a woman named Victoria Lynn in 1973 and soon joined the Los Angeles Police Department. After Victoria's death, Riggs fell into a deep depression, with his job as a police officer being the only thing keeping him from suicide.
