The Coxswain was a minor character briefly seen in the film Saving Private Ryan. He was the Captain of the landing craft which carried Captain John H. Miller and a platoon of his soldiers to Omaha Beach, during World War Two. The man order they "Clear the ramp, thirty seconds, God be with you!". He was later killed by a German MG-42 firing from the Coastal Bunker, unable to escape the landing craft in time.
