Scott Jones was a defender who played for Rovers for two years between 2000 and 2002. He joined the club initially on loan from Barnsley at the start of the 2000-01 season, before signing permanently a month later. The club forked out a £200,000 transfer fee for his services and he was a regular in the first team during his first season at the club. The following season Scott was in the first team less regularly, and was sent out on loan to York City near the end of the season before being allowed to leave on a free transfer in the summer of 2002.
