Whenever something is relative in music, it can be incorrect when compared to Standard tuning but sounds harmonious because the physics of sound allow it to. In other words, exactly what Standard tuning is has been decided by musicians over time, but it could have easily been something else - it would still sound good as long as notes were spaced the same (i.e. the difference between A and B).
