The Crown Herald has been owned by the Allen-Williamson family since its conception, with the current head of the family, Lord Charles Allen-Williamson II, holding the positions of Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper. Furthermore, the Crown Herald is owned by the Crown Herald Media Company, of which Lord Charles Allen-Williamson II is the Chairman of the Board of Directors. After the peak year of the newspaper, 1983, in which regular weekly readership often reached over 4.5 million, the Allen-Williamson family was given indefinite peerage and its primate was given hereditary induction into the College of Peers.
