Mean Red Spiders are a Canadian alternative rock band whose song, "Compromise", was featured in "Day 1: 12:00am-1:00am" when Janet York approached Paladio Furniture in her car. The band was formed in 1993 in Toronto, Ontario by guitarists Greg Chambers and David Humphreys, singer and bassist Lisa Nighswander and drummer Don Goldrick, the latter of which named the band after a Muddy Waters song. However, in 1995 they replaced Goldrick with Adam Rosen, and released El Diabolo, their debut album. This was followed by Places You Call Home in 1998 and Starsandsons in 2000, which featured the "Compromise" track. In 2001 Humphreys left the band; he was replaced by Rob Boak and then Dave Rodgers before he returned in 2007.
