The Test of a Good Person was a series of short sayings which were supposedly given by Jesus. Similar passages appear in the New Testament in Matthew and Luke, as well as in the apocryphal book, the Gospel of Thomas. From Matthew 7:15–20 (KJV): A similar passage appears in the Gospel of Thomas (Patterson-Meyer Translation): 43. His disciples said to him, "Who are you to say these things to us?" "You don't understand who I am from what I say to you. Rather, you have become like the Judeans, for they love the tree but hate its fruit, or they love the fruit but hate the tree."
