On the edge Surulere District, Lagos This stadium was built almost 100 years ago and, after football games were moved to a newer stadium in Abuja in 2002, it was left to rot. Over the years, it has been used as a warren for squatters, as a hideout for area boys and for odd religious cults. Recently, a group of area toughs have taken over, believed to be backed by a disreputable Hawala Clan (reports vary on who exactly is responsible). It has become a combat arena, used mainly for melee bloodsports (although occasional events focused on firearm skills are featured). Gambling has become a huge profit-maker for the clan, and observers varying from bored locals to wealthy foreigners attend and lose or win naira on their favorites. A matrix-based video feed is also available, heavily encrypted
