Introduced in Generation VII, the Light-type nullifies a Ghost/Dark dual-type Pokémon's lack of weaknesses. In addition to the discovery of several new Light-type Pokémon in the Deltéo region, many pre-existing Pokémon were retconned upon the release of Pokémon Alpha and Omega Versions to be Light-types, as well.
