Takio is the the second-smallest and northernmost of the Isles of the Dawn, famed for its Scarlet Pearls, although they are rarely fished for due to the threat of Pelagine retribution. The inhabitants of the Isles used to consider it taboo to go there, presumably because it had been the stronghold of the tyrant Bezenvial, who was overthrown and his city demolished by the Triurge of Aven. It was also where Bezenvial's sons, Maior and Feior, were preserved in magical sleep until such time as they could rise again and conquer the Isles, although Maior overcome his Evil inheritance and defeated his brother to become a righteous king.
