It is a sequel to 2012 film Jack Reacher. The film stars Tom Cruise, Cobie Smulders, Danika Yarosh, Aldis Hodge, Patrick Heusinger, and Holt McCallany. Principal photography began on October 20, 2015 in New Orleans. The film was released on October 21, 2016.
