One of their early side projects, in 1988, was called The Timelords, under pseudonyms Time Boy and Lord Rock. Their goal was to write the worst #1 single of all time. "Doctorin' the Tardis" was basically a mashup of the Doctor Who theme and Gary Glitter's "Rock 'n Roll Part Two", years before anyone had heard of mashups, or knew that Gary Glitter was banging 12-year-olds. It quickly went to #1 despite not a single critic giving it a positive review. Bravo, KLF.
